Christmas 2010

メリークリスマス！

Here's my Christmas card for 2010. I've sent some prints of this to some people.

This year I wanted to draw the Filipino Christmas. I am very very found of the parol (lanterns) especially the capiz (seashell) parols which is drawn on the top left. The 3 stars behind Midori-chan are the paper parols. Of course food is not missed during Christmas. I love Puto bongbong (purple rice cakes), which is drawn on Midori-chan's hand.... I didn't draw Bibinka (eh another rice cake).

I think the best Christmas in here in the Philippines. The spirit is very rich. I love the beautiful atmosphere even it doesn't snow here. I'm amused that the Christmas countdown here starts from September or 100 days before Christmas day. I'm happy that the colors of this piece came out good and exactly the color scheme I see of the Philippine Christmas.
